Post-Operative Management

As colleagues will be aware, post-operative complications can occur, particularly with restorative treatment under IV sedation as patient cooperation can be more challenging.

Detailed information would be given to all patients;

Following treatment the patient will be discharged back to the referring dentist.
We would ask for cooperation from referring colleagues to manage routine post-operative issues such as minor occlusal adjustments, smoothing of fillings, or immediate post-operative symptoms.
A detailed discussion regarding risks would be undertaken at the assessment appointment. The option to alter the treatment plan to remove, rather than restore, teeth with questionable prognosis would be offered.
Should restorative treatment fail, patients will also be made aware at the assessment appointment, that further treatment would incur further fees, particularly if additional sedation sessions are required.
