As a result of this presentation, delegates will be provided an insight into new initiatives, concepts, and ideas in the field of periodontology. Delegates should have a broader understanding of the new classification system and treatment guidelines, alongside improved confidence with applying to clinical cases.
Aim
- Provide delegates with an understanding of latest EFP initiatives to manage periodontitis and the oral-systemic link.
- Provide delegates with an understanding of the emerging evidence linking periodontal disease with obesity and obesity related diseases including diabetes and how to apply this in practice.
- Provide delegates with an explanation for the rational for a new updated classification system and treatment guidelines and increase the confidence of delegates using them.
